Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor recently underwent "unplanned spinal surgery," nearly putting the band's tour with Marilyn Manson in jeopardy. Fortunately, the singer is on the mend and the operation only resulted in a small delay of the tour. While he'll make a return to the stage, his usual unhinged performances will be scaled back a bit.

Taylor provided an update on Twitter (seen below) after a visit to the doctor, stating, "Neck update: follow-up appt w/ Dr was great! For now, no headbanging, jumping. But I'll sing my ass off. Back to 90% 4-6 months, 100%/year." Sure, it will be strange seeing the dynamic frontman restrained onstage, but the other eight members of Slipknot routinely provide enough entertainment to make up for it.

Earlier this month, Taylor issued a message apologizing to fans that the co-headlining trek with Marilyn Manson would have to be postponed as he recovered from surgery. He later revealed, "Basically broke my neck a while back and didn’t realize it.” The run was originally scheduled to kick off on June 9, but was pushed back to June 28, affecting 12 stops in total, which have since been rescheduled. All dates can be seen at our 2016 Guide to Rock + Metal Tours.

In other news, original Slipknot drummer Joey Jordison recently made his return to music and revealed that he was afflicted with transverse myelitis toward the end of his career in the band. The disease rendered him unable to use his legs and he had been told by doctors he may never walk again. The legend was dismissed from the group in late 2013 and has expressed interest in sitting down with his former bandmates to discuss a return. He said, "If it happened, that would be f—ing awesome, but only time will tell," about the idea of reuniting with the group.
