Slipknot absolutely dominated the 2014 Loudwire Music Awards. The masked marauders won a total of five awards, which has never been done before … not even close.

First up, Slipknot took the prize for Best Metal Band of 2014. And deservedly so, as Slipknot proved to be one of 2014's definitive metal acts. The band's fifth album, '.5: The Gray Chapter,' received an overwhelmingly positive response from fans. Even without Joey Jordison behind the kit and principle songwriter Paul Gray (may he rest in peace), Slipknot took 2014 by the throat and made it their year.

As for '.5: The Gray Chapter,' the record was voted Best Metal Album of 2014 by Loudwire readers. The first single released from the album was 'The Negative One,' which hit fans with the force of a comet. 'The Negative One' took home the trophy for Best Metal Song of 2014, and the track has also been nominated for a 2015 Grammy.

Slipknot enticed fans further with 'The Devil in I' and the track's music video. Depicting the destruction of all nine members, 'The Devil in I,' makes for indulgent viewing, thanks in part to director / Slipknot percussionist Shawn 'Clown' Crahan. 'The Devil and I' outclassed the competition in our 4th Annual Loudwire Music Awards category, winning Best Metal Video of 2014.

As mentioned earlier, fans were unsure if Slipknot could retain their intensity without drumming phenom Joey Jordison. However, the people have spoken; not only embracing the new Masked Drummer, but voting him the Best Drummer of 2014.

Congratulations to Slipknot and the band's collection of record-breaking wins in the 4th Annual Loudwire Music Awards.
