On Aug. 28, 2001, Slipknot released their second full-length album, ‘Iowa.’ Named after their home state (and the angst-ridden memories of growing up there), ‘Iowa’ proved to be the album that solidified Slipknot as metal powerhouses. On Nov. 1, the band will release the three-disc 10th anniversary edition of ‘Iowa.’

Although Slipknot had already made a name for themselves, ‘Iowa’ was the album that turned millions of music fans into “maggots” — the term bestowed onto Slipknot fans. Including the tracks ‘Disasterpiece,’ ‘The Heretic Anthem’ and ‘Left Behind,’ the album attained platinum status by shipping one million copies.

The 10th anniversary edition of ‘Iowa’ will include the original album, including a remix of ‘My Plague’; a CD of the full audio from a 2002 performance at the London Arena (which was filmed for the ‘Disasterpieces’ DVD); and a DVD containing ‘Goat,’ a new film directed by Slipknot percussionist Shawn “Clown” Crahan that features never-before-seen interviews and footage showcasing the madness of the ‘Iowa’ era. In addition the DVD will contain four Slipknot music videos.
