With Smashing Pumpkins announcing their "Shiny and Oh So Bright" tour this past week and focusing on the early years of the band, one of the promotional items planned to promote the trek was to track down Ali Laenger and LySandra Roberts, the two cover models for the band's Siamese Dream album. The two joyful little girls seemed to be having the best time while sporting butterfly wings and the distinctive shot became one of the more popular album covers of the '90s. Now fully grown, Ali and LySandra once again posed for a photo, now as fully grown women, sporting butterfly wings, in a photo posted as a teaser for the tour.

The new shot likely brought back a lot of feels for those who were fans back in 1993 when the album was initially released, and it also dredged up some feelings for Billy Corgan, who reflected on the experience seeing the pair in a new Instagram posting.

"On such a special day in SP history, I want to take a moment to thank Ali and LySandra, who you might know were the little girls that I stood by and watched have their picture taken some 23 years ago (on what was a perfect LA afternoon), never realizing that this moment in time would forever tie us [togethe]r, and go on to become such an iconic image in rock history," said Corgan.

He continued, "What's amazing is their chemistry with one another still leaps through the camera to this day and yet if memory serves they'd never met before that Siamese shoot. Which tells me their coming together, and the beauty that Melodie's shot captures, of youth and innocence, was meant to be SP's own, personal lucky star. So thank you thank you thank you Ali and LySandra, we adore you, and having you be a part of today's launch brings tears to my eyes. For life goes fast, and I can still see you in my mind's eye wearing crisp white dresses in a stranger's backyard, looking like little Mother Mary's, smiling and laughing into the sun."

With James Iha and Jimmy Chamberlin joining him, Billy Corgan will be revisiting music from the band's first five studio albums, including Siamese Dream, on their "Shiny and Oh So Bright" tour. The trek launches July 12 in Glendale, Ariz. See all of the tour dates here.
