Soulfly to Embark on 2016 U.S. Tour With Suffocation, Battlecross + More

Nuclear Blast
Nuclear Blast

Get ready for one of the heaviest tours of the spring! Groove enthusiasts Soulfly will be hitting the United States for a month-long trek with death metal heavyweights Suffocation, melody-infused extreme metallers Battlecross, Abnormality and Lody Kong. Soulfly frontman Max Cavalera is amped, exclaiming, “We are coming again with another kick in your face package! Get ready to sell your soul to metal!!”

The tour will begin in San Antonio, Texas on April 22, extend up to the Northeast before heading out West, finishing up in West Hollywood, Calif. on May 20. Soulfly will be out in support of their acclaimed Archangel album, the 10th full length from the band since forming in 1997 following Cavalera’s famous departure from Sepultura.

Suffocation will serve as direct support each night, save for April 24 where they will not be performing. The band is expected to once again employ the services of Disgorge drummer Ricky Myers, who will be filling in for vocalist Frank Mullen. The iconic frontman has had to step back from extensive touring with the group in recent years and the rotating vocal spot finally has stability.

Max Cavalera is expected to hit the road later in the year as he and his brother and former Sepultura bandmate Igor will be celebrating the 20th anniversary of Sepultura’s influential Roots album. No dates have been announced as of this time.
