Yellow Dogs guitarist Sourosh Farazmand and drummer Arash Farazmand were tragically killed by a gunman in Brooklyn, N.Y., on Nov. 11.

The Iranian band formed in 2006 in Tehran, but based themselves in Brooklyn for a number of years. The post-punk band had played the South by Southwest music festival and were named one of 50 bands to watch by Spin magazine.

The two musicians and a friend were fatally shot by gunman as Raefe Ahkbar, a fellow Iranian musician who was at one point associated with a band that was tight with the Yellow Dogs. Ahkbar also committed suicide by shooting himself.
