South by Southwest 2013: Live Metal Music Guide

Since 1987, South by Southwest (SXSW) has been one of the most celebrated gatherings for music, film and interactive entertainment. As the largest music festival of its kind on the planet, SXSW will take over Austin, Texas, for 10 consecutive days, and we've got your essential guide to the metal showcases that will be taking place at the fest.

Along with artists from a multitude of genres, metal bands will converge upon Austin from March 12-16, with acts such as Goatwhore, A Life Once Lost, Black Tusk, Today is the Day, Pallbearer and many more set to crack into the Earth with brutality. If you're heading on down to Austin, widely known as America's live music capital, be sure to drop by the Dirty Dog Bar, Metal & Lace Lounge, Red 7 and many other venues throughout the festivities.
