With the release of their new self-titled album slowly descending upon us (Sept. 13), Staind has another surprise up their tattooed sleeves.

The band has just announced a very special release show on Sept. 15 at the Best Buy Theater in New York City.  With the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 tragedy upon us this weekend, the band wanted to draw attention to the historic date in our nation’s history as well as support families of the 9/11 victims.

By keeping ticket prices at $9.11 each, the band hopes to rally their troops. "We are deliberately making the ticket price $9.11 to underscore the point that if enough of us do just a little bit, together we can make a big difference in the lives of the families who’s members made the supreme sacrifice for our country,” said Staind frontman Aaron Lewis.

As an added bonus, Staind's record label, Atlantic Records, will match the band's donation from ticket sales for a separate additional donation to the charity.

Tickets go on sale to the general public tomorrow (Sept. 10) at noon ET at staindbenefit911.com. If you are a member of Staind’s ‘Dysfunctional’ Fan Club you can purchase your tickets now.

The band recently surprised fans with a stream of the new album on ESPN.com. Loudwire has all the details for you here.

While it's commendable to see rockers coming together for something so special, frontman Aaron Lewis has never been one to shy away from a great cause.
