Coheed and Cambria have been known to pull out every stop to create an overall concept for their albums, but for 'The Afterman: Ascension,' singer Claudio Sanchez is at least preparing the band's fans for the next chapter with a video series explanation. Those who follow the group know their dedication not only to the music but also in creating an interweaving story with the songs and overall discs that the listener can dig into deeper should they choose.
Coheed and Cambria are keeping up their description as one of the most detail-oriented bands in rock. The group's latest winding tale is titled 'The Afterman: Ascension,' and now carries an Oct. 9 release date.
Coheed and Cambria's next release will be a double album, with the first one due later this year. 'The Afterman' will feature new bassist Zach Cooper and the return of drummer Josh Eppard. Cooper, of course, replaced Michael Todd after his arrest for robbing a pharmacy of prescription drugs in 2011.
Sick of hearing that annoyingly addictive Gotye song ‘Somebody That I Used to Know’ everywhere that you go? Well, Coheed and Cambria seems to have taken the ‘if you can’t beat them, join them’ approach to it, giving the tune a creative twist in a way that only singer Claudio Sanchez could deliver.
