Megadeth Rep: Dave Mustaine Not Responsible for Booting Newsted Off Australian Shows

On Feb. 5, news broke that Newsted had been booted from two of Megadeth's upcoming Australian tour dates. It was stated by organizers that Jason Newsted's eponymous band were removed from the shows "at the request of Megadeth," but according to a Megadeth representative, the band had nothing to do with kicking Newsted off the Australian gigs.

Many acts take the opportunity to play extra 'Sidewave' shows while they're traveling around the country, but according to Soundwave itself, Jason Newsted's eponymous solo act has been booted from two Megadeth side shows "at the request" of the band.
