It has been well over two years since Alter Bridge's last album 'ABIII.' But after a tweet last month from bassist Brian Marshall about writing new songs and news from guitarist Mark Tremonti that pre-production had begun, we're now getting confirmation that recording has started. These are busy times for Mark Tremonti. The guitarist extraordinaire is balancing two projects, currently working in the studio with Alter Bridge while trying to keep the momentum of his solo self-titled band still going during their downtime. Tremonti offered a pair of status updates, one in written and the other in video form, on both of his acts.
Alter Bridge's members have set aside all of their other projects and are currently in the midst of writing for their next record. The group has yet to reveal when their fourth studio album will arrive in stores, but given the discussion of a fall tour, it's likely that a late summer / early fall street date will eventually be revealed.
Mark Tremonti is currently winding down the latest North American tour leg for his self-titled band, and Alter Bridge are about to become his primary focus. The guitarist tells Billboard that after meeting briefly earlier this year, the band is ready to resume work on a new disc and has the beginnings of the effort in place.
