First off, let's give some credit where it's due. Black Label Society's 'My Dying Time' just entered the Loudwire Cage Match Hall of Fame with five straight victories. Congrats to BLS! But now that the song has been retired, it's time to get two new competitors into the Loudwire Cage Match.
Rocking for a cause is something Seether know a lot about. Their Rise Above Fest was born in 2012 and made its triumphant return to New England again this year on May 10 at the Darling’s Waterfront Pavilion in Bangor, Maine. The festival, the brainchild of Seether frontman Shaun Morgan, aims to raise funding and more importantly, awareness about suicide-- something that Morgan has a deeply personal connection with after the loss of his brother Eugene in 2007.
It's been a common story over the years -- a teen commits suicide and blame starts to fly as to the reasons why. Unfortunately, one of the common scapegoats is music, with several rockers unfairly facing scrutiny after past tragedies. It's also an experience that Avenged Sevenfold now shares.
Avenged Sevenfold's Synyster Gates and Zacky Vengeance just took home the award for Best Guitarists at this year’s Revolver Golden Gods Awards, but a few weeks ago Gates took the stage for a much different kind of gathering. In an event co-sponsored by Schecter Guitar Research and Guitar Center, Gates hand-selected 10 guitarists from an online contest to take part in an hour-and-a-half master class.
Avenged Sevenfold are still going strong on their 'Hail to the King' album and will be for quite some time, but fans of the band will be happy to know that the group intends to revisit pieces of their past for a pair of upcoming projects. Loudwire recently spoke with frontman M. Shadows who revealed plans for two projects the band hopes to complete in the coming months.
Avenged Sevenfold are one of the hottest bands in the land and they're teaming with Loudwire for one very special prize package. You could win the group's limited edition 'Hail to the King' treasure box set along with an incredible concert VIP experience.
During a recent broadcast of 'Loudwire Nights,' radio goddess and host Full Metal Jackie spoke with Avenged Sevenfold singer M. Shadows. The two covered a wide range of topics including Avenged's new album 'Hail to the King,' the state of the music industry, golfing while on tour + much more.
Korn's Cage Match win streak has hit three and the band is just two victories away from making the Cage Match Hall of Fame with their latest single, 'Spike in My Veins.' The band bested Linkin Park's 'Guilty All the Same' in their most recent match-up and the hard-hitting, thought-provoking song will now move on to face a new opponent.
