On Monday night (June 10) at the Iridium Jazz Club in New York City, Zakk Wylde invited fans to what was sure to be a unique show. Before his death, the one and only Les Paul played at the Iridium every Monday night with the Les Paul Trio. Posthumously, the tradition lives on, but where Les Paul once played, guitar greats are invited to help honor him. Wylde's presence onstage with the Trio proved even more exciting as it was the day after what would have been Les Paul's 98th birthday.
Every Monday evening at the Iridium in NYC, the Les Paul Trio assemble to play and honor guitar great and innovator Les Paul. The tradition includes welcoming legendary guest guitarists to join them for unique, one of a kind shows and the latest invite extended was to Zakk Wylde, who will perform with the trio June 10.
Megadeth's 2013 edition of Gigantour has finally revealed its full lineup along with a full list of tour dates. Including Megadeth, five bands had already been confirmed for the annual tour, but apparently six is the magic number, as Black Label Society will also hit the road for the North American tour this summer.
Black Label Society first discussed the idea of unplugging their instruments for a special performance last year, and Wednesday night (March 6) in Los Angeles the special semi-acoustic taping finally came to fruition. Zakk Wylde and crew let the cameras and audio equipment roll during the performance at Los Angeles' Club Nokia for what will eventually be a new CD/DVD release called 'Unblackened.'
Several members of the hard rock community are mobilizing to help those in need by recording a benefit track to raise funds for those affected by Hurricane Sandy. The collective, which consists of Black Label Society's Zakk Wylde and JD Deservio, Sevendust's Morgan Rose, Candlebox's Kevin Martin and New York outfit the Infinite Staircase, will record the as-yet-untitled song with plans to release it as an iTunes exclusive on Jan. 8.
The rock world has really been representing when it comes to reality TV shows lately. First former Kittie bassist Jenn Arroyo moved into the ‘Big Brother’ house and now bassist James LoMenzo who has played with Megadeth, Black Label Society and White Lion throughout his career, is joining the new season of ‘The Amazing Race.’
