Creed are currently making their way across the country on a very special anniversary tour. They set out on a retrospective trek to celebrate the 15th anniversary of their debut disc ‘My Own Prison.’ However, what started out as a handful of dates in a few select cities dubbed the ‘2 Nights Live’ tour has turned into a full blown tour for the band.
Creed recently kicked off their tour celebrating the 15th anniversary of their debut disc ‘My Own Prison,’ but guitarist Mark Tremonti is gearing up for a milestone of his own later this summer. On July 12 Tremonti will release his debut solo disc titled ‘All I Was.’
Happy birthday to Creed / Alter Bridge guitarist Mark Tremonti, who turns 38 today (April 18). After selling millions of albums with his two bands, he is looking for further success with his first solo disc set to be released later this year.
This year marks a big one in Creed’s musical trajectory, as the post-grunge boys are commemorating the 15th anniversary of their fundamental 1997 album, ‘My Own Prison,’ with a cross-country tour. Singer Scott Stapp, guitarist Mark Tremonti, bass player Brian Marshall and drummer Scott Phillips will play their ‘My Own Prison’ and ‘Human Clay’ albums back-to-back on different evenings of the trek, so expect to hear plenty of hits and more obscure cuts, to boot.
The first time most of us heard about Mark Tremonti, he was heading up post-grunge behemoths Creed, touring the country and playing bread-and-butter rock hits such as ‘My Own Prison,’ ‘Torn’ and ‘What’s This Life For?’ That was in the late-‘90s and early-‘00s, and Creed have since gone on to become multiplatinum rock sensations.
It’s hard to believe, but the boys of Creed celebrate the 15th anniversary of their multiplatinum debut album, ‘My Own Prison,’ this year. Of course, a milestone like that can’t go by without some kind of celebration, and in that spirit, the guys -- singer Scott Stapp, guitarist Mark Tremonti, bass player Brian Marshall and drummer Scott Phillips -- are setting out on a North American tour this April. The band will play their entire ‘My Own Prison’ and ‘Human Clay’ albums in their entirety on different nights of the tour, so it’s a true gala of all things Creed.
Creed are currently working on their fifth studio album. Having already sold 35 million albums worldwide of their first four full-length releases, Creed are one of the biggest-selling bands of the past 15 years.
Creed have large expectations for the follow-up to their 2010 comeback album 'Full Circle,' and while vocalist Scott Stapp reveals that they are "halfway there," he also says that they will not quit working until they have their best album to date.
Myles Kennedy isn’t the only one in Alter Bridge juggling multiple projects; guitarist Mark Tremonti is a musician who wears many hats, as well. He plays lead guitar in a little band you may have heard of called Creed and is currently hard at work on his first solo album.
For anyone longing for vintage Creed, then we’ve got some good news. The band recently announced a six-date run of special shows where they’ll play back to back shows of their debut release ‘My Own Prison’ and their second album ‘Human Clay,’ respectively, in their entirety.
