Cro-Mags vocalist John Joseph checked in to assure Bad Brains fans that the punk legend is improving.

Some legendary acts made their way to this year’s Afropunk Festival in Brooklyn. Punk icons Bad Brains and Cro-Mags rocked Commodore Barry Park in Brooklyn along with Body Count, Straight Line Stitch and Unlocking the Truth.

Assault and weapons charges against Cro-Mags founder and former bassist Harley Flanagan have been dismissed, reports the website New York Natives. The charges resulted from a melee that took place at the CBGBs Festival back in July, with Flanagan and members of the band's current lineup coming to blows and a knife fight factoring into the legalities.

Although conflicting with statements regarding the incident, Harley Flanagan has claimed that he was acting in self-defense.

On July 6, Cro-Mags founder and former bassist Harley Flanagan was arrested after allegedly assaulting current Cro-Mags bassist Michael Couls and additional victim William Berario at New York's CBGB Festival. Flanagan apparently went after the band with a knife, also biting Berario's cheek. Three days after the incident, Cro-Mags have released an official statement regarding the attack.

Harley Flanagan, a founder and former bassist of the influential hardcore punk/metal act Cro-Mags, was arrested last night (July 6) for allegedly stabbing and biting two current members of the band.
