During an interview with Filter frontman Richard Patrick about the band's upcoming album 'The Sun Comes Out Tonight,' the musician shared an unnerving story about his wife. As Patrick's wife was driving her Prius, which sports a 'Ban Assault Weapons' bumper sticker, the singer says a car full of "God-proclaiming gun nuts" began to throw trash at her car, almost running her off the road.
After getting word earlier this year that Filter had signed to a new label and was working on a new album tentatively titled 'Gurney and the Burning Books,' the official title and release date have been announced. Now called 'The Sun Comes Out Tonight,' the album will be released June 4 via Wind-up Records.
Cleveland rock veterans Filter have announced that Wind-up Records will be the new home for their sixth full-length album, tentatively titled 'Gurney and the Burning Books.' The album is slated to drop in May, while the disc's first single will hit the airwaves in March.
On the final day of the ShipRocked 2012 cruise, rockers spent the day at sea on our way back to Ft. Lauderdale. After hitting the massive breakfast buffet for the last time on the MSC Poesia, concertgoers headed over to the Deck stage at noon in order to catch Filter’s second performance.
Filter couldn’t get enough of New York City after just playing a show there in March. Only a few months later, they returned to the city that never sleeps for a rocking show at Irving Plaza (on July 12), and this time they brought along Fuel, Static Summer and Menew with them.
Filter have expanded their summer tour, adding several new dates (listed below.) The band entered the studio in April with producer Bob Marlette to record their fifth studio album ‘Gurney and the Burning Books.’ It is due to be released sometime later this year.
David Draiman recently announced he was at work on a new "musical project" that will bring a more industrial vibe to the table. Now, the Disturbed frontman reveals that he has drafted a guitarist who knows the genre well -- ex-Filter guitarist Geno Lenardo.
Richard Patrick of Filter has confirmed that the band is heading back into the studio in April to start recording their new record, a follow up to 2010’s ‘The Trouble with Angels.’ They’ll be working with producer Bob Marlette whose impressive track record includes work with Black Sabbath, Saliva and Atreyu. The tentative title of the new disc is ‘Gurney and the Burning Books.’
While Filter are working on their new album ‘Gurney and the Burning Books,’ which is due out later this year, they rocked New York City’s Gramercy Theater on March 8 as they played a variety of tunes spanning their musical career of well over 15 years. Support acts included Menew and Evan Russell Saffer.
