David Draiman recently announced he was at work on a new "musical project" that will bring a more industrial vibe to the table. Now, the Disturbed frontman reveals that he has drafted a guitarist who knows the genre well -- ex-Filter guitarist Geno Lenardo.
Richard Patrick of Filter has confirmed that the band is heading back into the studio in April to start recording their new record, a follow up to 2010’s ‘The Trouble with Angels.’ They’ll be working with producer Bob Marlette whose impressive track record includes work with Black Sabbath, Saliva and Atreyu. The tentative title of the new disc is ‘Gurney and the Burning Books.’
While Filter are working on their new album ‘Gurney and the Burning Books,’ which is due out later this year, they rocked New York City’s Gramercy Theater on March 8 as they played a variety of tunes spanning their musical career of well over 15 years. Support acts included Menew and Evan Russell Saffer.
Loudwire is teaming up with Filter to give away an awesome prize pack of merchandise from the band. Among the goodies are a CD copy of the group's latest album, 'The Trouble With Angels' and an autographed Filter 'Hero Card.'
The marquee at the House of Blues in Boston on Saturday (Oct. 15) -- ‘Bush, Chevelle and Filter’ -- read like short trip back in time, yet seemed very current, with all three bands extremely active these days.
The music and legacy of the iconic band ZZ Top is being celebrated with the release of 'A Tribute From Friends.' The 11-track album features the likes of hard-rock acts Nickelback, Filter, Mastodon, Coheed & Cambria, Loaded, Wolfmother and Daughtry.
At first glance, industrial metal and Texas-fried blues rock seem to go together like Lamb of God and Lady Gaga. So, when Filter were announced as one of the bands included on the forthcoming ZZ Top covers album, ‘A Tribute From Friends,’ you can be forgiven for doubting the results.
Rockers such as Nickelback, Filter and Mastodon are among the acts rocking ZZ Top songs for a new tribute album set to drop Oct. 11. The disc, 'A Tribute From Friends,' also features Wolfmother, Steven Tyler and Duff McKagan paying homage to the legendary 'Little Ol' Band From Texas.'
