Godsmack have always been vocal about how much of an influence Pantera had on their career and so it seemed only fitting that when the 2012 Rockstar Energy Drink Uproar Festival rolled into Pantera’s home state of Texas that the band would pay homage to them at some point during the night.
Godsmack are currently on tour with the traveling Uproar Festival with Shinedown, Staind, Papa Roach and many more. During the Aug. 31 date in Pittsburgh, Pa., a shirtless fan jumped onstage during Godsmack's set, and after running around a bit, placed a hat atop the head of frontman Sully Erna. Multiple security guards tackled the fan with the intensity of an NFL linebacker, which prompted Erna to stop midway through a song and give the guards a piece of his mind.
With a ridiculously jam-packed day that featured 14 bands on three different stages spread out over 10 nonstop hours of music, the 2012 Rockstar Energy Drink Uproar Festival offers up one heck of a music equation resulting in only one thing - an overdose of rock.

As the summer gives way to fall, it's good to know that there's still some good times to be had and solid hard rock to be consumed at the Rockstar Energy Drink Uproar Festival. The trek just launched, but before things got underway singers Sully Erna from Godsmack, Brent Smith from Shinedown, and Rick DeJesus from Adelitas Way took part in a chat about the event at the Rockstar Uproar festival website.
