Fronted by the charismatic Lzzy Hale, Halestorm are one of America’s most promising rising hard rock bands of the 21st Century. Hale and her younger brother, drummer Arejay, started writing and performing when they were thirteen and ten-years old, respectively; first with support from their father Roger on bass until Josh Smith followed Joe Hottinger (guitar) into their precious band. At that point, Halestorm began touring relentlessly until securing a development deal with Atlantic Records in 2005, and delivering their eponymous debut album, four years later. Produced by Howard Benson (Daughtry, My Chemical Romance, etc.), ‘Halestorm’ never climbed higher than No. 40 on the Billboard Charts, but spun off a series of successful mainstream rock radio singles in ‘It’s Not You’ and ‘Bet You Wish You Had Me Back,’ while the quartet maintained a grueling promotion and concert schedule. All of it was worthwhile as both Halestorm and Lzzy herself gradually saw their public profile escalating thanks to multiple collaborations with fellow rockers ranging from Shinedown to Evanescence to violinist Lindsey Stirling. A sophomore album, ‘The Strange Case of…’ followed in 2012 and its lead-off single, ‘Love Bites… (So Do I)’ made Halestorm the first female-fronted band to top the Active Rock airplay chart, and they later won the Grammy award for Best hard Rock/metal performance. Halestorm have also released a pair of covers EPs paying tribute to bands that inspired them with songs from the likes of Heart, Skid Row, Guns n’ Roses, Pat Benatar and AC/DC.
