Just before Creed and Alter Bridge guitarist Mark Tremonti was preparing to kick off the first tour with his solo project Tremonti, he found out the bassist Brian Marshall would be unable to join him on the road. Enter Wolfgang Van Halen, who agreed to step in for the tour. Less than 24 hours later, Tremonti's first show was in Coventry, R.I., and now behind the scenes footage has been released of the events leading up to that concert.
Tremonti, the solo project of Creed/Alter Bridge guitarist Mark Tremonti, recently kicked off their first tour, but it was not without a few bumps in the road. Days before the tour was set to get under way, bassist Brian Marshall had to bow out due to personal reasons, leaving Tremonti without a bassist. After a quick phone call to a friend, Tremonti had a new bassist with quite a pedigree in rock, Wolfgang Van Halen had agreed to fill in the position on the trek.
For Mark Tremonti, being in just two bands – Creed and Alter Bridge – wasn’t quite challenging enough. The guitarist, songwriter and now lead vocalist will debut his first solo disc titled ‘All I Was’ on July 17. The disc holds a handful of firsts for the masterful musician including first solo disc, and the first time he’s sung and recorded lead vocals.
Mark Tremonti is finding that something that was supposed to be fun and show his growth is turning into something more than he ever imagined. The Creed and Alter Bridge guitarist tells Guitar International that the early response to his 'All I Was' solo album has gone beyond his wildest dreams.
