Did you know that Dave Mustaine's daughter is a singer? At only 15 years old, Electra Mustaine recently appeared on the Seattle morning TV show 'New Day Northwest' along with musician Jason Kertson to perform a stripped-down version of the Megadeth classic 'A Tout le Monde.'
Gigantour 2013 is now in the books, and during the final show last night (Aug. 11) in Toronto, Dave Mustaine and Jason Newsted jammed the Metallica classic 'Phantom Lord' during Megadeth's set (watch fan-shot video above).
Metalheads of all ages turned out for Gigantour at New York's Hammerstein Ballroom on Aug. 7 presumably with their hearing somewhat intact. With sets by Megadeth, Black Label Society and Newsted, it’s safe to say that ears were ringing and muscles were aching days after the show.
Here's some news that may or may not surprise you. Since Megadeth's released 'Super Collider,' two months ago, album sales have been somewhat disappointing. In fact, 'Super Collider' was outsold this week by Metallica's 'Black Album,' which is 22 years old.
Oklahoma City was plagued with bad luck last night (July 16) as Megadeth's Gigantour 2013 was severely affected by extreme weather issues. Intense rain and lightning forced Device to skip their set, but that wasn't even the tip of the iceberg. Shortly before Megadeth were set to take the stage, a bolt of lightning struck an Oklahoma City transformer, cutting power to the Zoo Amphitheatre entirely.
Megadeth have just unveiled a music video for their newest album's title track, 'Super Collider.' The clip tells the story of two students who fall for each other after a mishap in science class, only to be torn apart by a furious father played by Megadeth's own Dave Mustaine.
The Oklahoma City area was devastated by tornadoes earlier this year. On May 20, a powerful twister with winds up to 210 MPH struck the town of Moore, killing 24 people and injuring almost 400. Over a thousand home were destroyed, with damage estimated at $2 billion. As the area struggles to rebuild, Megadeth are doing their part to help.
Megadeth frontman Dave Mustaine has teamed up with the good people at Funny or Die to create a great spoof of Mustaine's recent Men's Wearhouse debacle. Taking the role of George Zimmer, the bearded, deep-voiced guy from the Men's Wearhouse commercials, Mustaine got himself into a suit to promote Megadeth's newest album, 'Super Collider.' Oh yeah, and Mustaine's buddy Kenny G also makes a cameo in the vid!
