When we arrived at Bader Field the day before Metallica's Orion Music + More festival, we were greeted with the band rocking out to one of our favorite tunes, 'Creeping Death.' It turned out that they were performing their usual pre-show soundcheck, working out all the kinks before they kicked off their first ever two-day fest.
Metallica threw down the inaugural installment of the Orion Music + More Festival in Atlantic City, N.J., the weekend of June 23. If you weren't one of the tens of thousands of music fans in attendance at the diverse music and lifestyle event, check out Metallica's official Day One video recap of the festivities below.
Thy Will Be Done Singer on Obstacles + Influences
Metallica set the bar high after they finished their set on day one of the Orion Music + More festival in Atlantic City, N.J. Fortunately for fans, day two exceeded all expectations. Sunday night, mighty Metallica tore through their ridiculously successful 1991 self-titled disc (better known as the Black Album), and to no one's surprise, they played it backwards, just like they did with 'Ride the Lightning' the night before. Delivering another night of 2 hours of solid rock 'n' roll, how anyone left Orion without their faces melted off is an absolute mystery!
