Rex Brown Goes In-Depth About His New Book and the Legacy of Pantera
March Metal Madness 2013 has progressed into Round 2, and the Stage Dive Region has left us with some legendary pairings. These next two bands defeated their opponents during Round 1, and are looking to get even closer to the Championship round and gaining the distinction of labeling one of their works as the greatest ever.
Former Pantera bassist Rex Brown was the guest on Full Metal Jackie’s radio show this past weekend. Brown spoke about his decision to write his book 'Official Truth, 101 Proof: The Inside Story of Pantera,' which reflects on his years with the legendary metal act. He also talks about upcoming material by his new band Kill Devil Hill. If you missed Full Metal Jackie’s show, check out her interview with Rex Brown below:
It's March Metal Madness 2013! To find the best metal album of all time, we're leaving it up to you to vote for your favorite records throughout the history of the genre. We've got two more innovators on the block in this Stage Dive region Round 1 matchup, with one of metal's most aggressive acts taking on one of the most eclectic acts in modern metal.
Those looking to get more insight into one of metal's most popular bands -- Pantera -- should have plenty of opportunities over the next couple of years. Frontman Phil Anselmo is currently working on his memoir, but first fans will be able to look behind the curtain with bassist Rex Brown's autobiography, 'Official Truth, 101 Proof: The Inside Story of Pantera,' which arrives next month.
Pantera's music has long served as inspiration for knocking somebody out, but for parents seeking a more responsible method to put their kids to sleep, a new CD, 'Lullaby Versions of Pantera,' has just been released by Twinkle Twinkle Little Rock Star.
The rift between longtime Pantera bandmates Phil Anselmo and Vinnie Paul has been well documented, but that hasn't kept Anselmo from offering olive branches to open communication in the media over the years.
