The past few months have been rough on Puddle of Mudd singer Wes Scantlin. In November Scantlin filed for divorce, in December the IRS was reportedly pursuing him for more than $60,000 in back taxes, and now TMZ is reporting that last month Scantlin was arrested for possession of a controlled substance.
Puddle of Mudd's latest album, 'Re(disc:)overed,' may have earned the band another Top 5 album on Billboard's Hard Rock charts this past August, but that doesn't mean 2011 has been all sunshine and roses for frontman Wes Scantlin -- in fact, between filing for divorce from his wife of four years and losing the band's guitarist, Paul Phillips, something tells us that Scantlin won't be sorry to see the year end in a couple of weeks.
Road warriors Puddle of Mudd have just announced a new leg of headlining dates in November and December. The shows will kick off on Nov. 14 in Hartford, Conn., and run through a Dec. 10 gig in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Covering the Rolling Stones' classic 'Gimme Shelter' is hardly revolutionary in rock music, and bands that choose to tackle the tune have two choices: Either you take the song and make it your own or you fall in line with the original and let it take you to new places.
