Queens of the Stone Age
After teasing a Motorhead appearance earlier in the day, the complete Coachella 2014 lineup was revealed late Wednesday night (Jan. 8). This year's event features the reunion of hip-heroes OutKast, alterna-rockers Muse and Grammy winners Arcade Fire headlining the three nights, though there is still plenty of rock to go around.
Queens of the Stone Age released 'Era Vulgaris' in 2007, then took several years before releasing last year's highly acclaimed '… Like Clockwork' album. Granted, there was a full touring cycle and a major side project (Them Crooked Vultures) in between, but Josh Homme is intent on there being a quicker turnaround for the band's next disc.
In 2013, Queens of the Stone Age have released a staggering amount of material, both sonically and visually. This year will be remembered as one of the band's best and most productive, but QOTSA aren't finished yet. Just revealed from Queens of the Stone Age is a unique, interactive music video for 'The Vampyre of Time and Memory' that feels like a walk through Disneyland's Haunted Mansion.
Interviewing a band can sometimes be an intimidating affair, but in this new clip, two kids handle a live chat with Queens of the Stone Age with ease. The 12-year-old girls sat down with QOTSA's Josh Homme and Dean Fertita before a show in Ohio to pick their collective brains on pretty much everything that is important in a pre-teen world including topics like 'American Idol' and Halloween.
Nick Oliveri, former Queens of the Stone Age / Kyuss musician and current frontman of Mondo Generator, was involved in a serious auto accident late Monday night (June 24). Mondo Generator released the news via their Facebook page late last night (June 26), offering their "well-wishes and hang in there's."
While six years between releases may be a long time to wait for a new Queens of the Stone Age disc, it certainly didn’t deter music fans from lining up to buy the album as soon as it came out. QOTSA’s sixth studio album ‘…Like Clockwork’ debuted in the top spot on the Billboard 200 chart this week, resulting in a huge milestone for the band as their first No. 1 disc.
Queens of the Stone Age have been lighting things up since the release of their new album ‘…Like Clockwork’ on June 4, and now fans can mark their calendars for a newly announced leg of tour dates that kick off Sept. 10 in Toronto at the Air Canada Center with stops in U.S. cities like Detroit, Nashville and Tulsa, Okla.
