Red Hot Chili Peppers took the stage at the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J., on Friday (May 4) for the first of two sold out shows, and the band took care to dedicate the show to Adam Yauch of the Beastie Boys, who tragically passed away mere miles away in his native New York earlier that day after a three-year bout with cancer.

In keeping with the theme of their recent induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the Red Hot Chili Peppers are set to release an EP that will feature a collection of cover songs honoring previous Hall of Fame inductees. The song selections were based on artists who have influenced the Chili Peppers throughout their career and run the gamut of styles from the Ramones to the Beach Boys.
Red Hot Chili Peppers are scheduled to perform a free concert for Barack Obama campaign volunteers in Cleveland this Sunday, the day after the band is to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The only obligation in order to get into the free concert is to volunteer for the Obama 2012 phone bank.

Looks like Ozzy Osbourne is finally "cool enough" to play at Lollapalooza, seeing as Black Sabbath have been leaked as one of the headliners of the Chicago festival. Also reported to play the 2012 bill are Red Hot Chili Peppers, the Black Keys, Jack White, Die Antwoord, At the Drive-In and many more.
While there is still one glaring omission from the list of presenters for the April 14 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony, it does reveal that comedian Chris Rock and Public Enemy's Chuck D will be a parts of the festivities.
