Scott Weiland has been one of the most unpredictable frontmen in rock for the past two decades. In a new interview, he not only reveals that he hopes to release a new Stone Temple Pilots album, he also admits he would like to rejoin Velvet Revolver at some point down the road. It’s official, hell has frozen over.
The last time we heard anything new from Stone Temple Pilots singer Scott Weiland, he was walking around in a winter wonderland on his holiday disc ‘The Most Wonderful Time of the Year.’ He now returns to his rock roots with a new song penned for the soundtrack for the upcoming summer blockbuster movie ‘The Avengers.’
Four years after their acrimonious split, the members of Velvet Revolver reunited with lead singer Scott Weiland for a brief live set last night (Jan. 12) -- and now a message on the band's website is causing some to question whether Weiland could be back in the fold on a more permanent basis.
According to Blabbermouth, the former VR lead singer will perform with his ex mates for a good cause – the 'Love You Madly: A Concert for John O'Brien' benefit show, which is set to take place Thursday, Jan. 12, at the House of Blues in West Hollywood, Calif. In addition, Rage Against the Machine guitarist Tom Morello will appear on the bill along with Sheryl Crow, Maroon 5's Adam Levine and others.

Scott Weiland is certainly doing his best to reinvent himself as a Rat Pack crooner with his holiday set 'The Most Wonderful Time of the Year.' He has just issued a video (watch below) for his version of the wistful holiday standard 'I'll Be Home for Christmas.' The vid starts with a waving American flag and vintage footage of troops playing on the screen behind Weiland's swaying silhouette.
