Chris Cornell says he feels the next Soundgarden album will "naturally happen."
It was a tight battle, but Soundgarden's 'Black Hole Sun' has emerged to earn its first Classic Cage Match victory over Nine Inch Nails' 'Closer.' The standout track off of Soundgarden's stellar 'Superunknown' album is a wicked rocker giving Chris Cornell's voice a chance to shine while some sinister licks are laid down under his voice. The track received just shy of 55 percent of the final tally to advance, but 1994 was a big year for hard rock and the hits just keep on coming.
One of the great things about the Seattle scene of the early '90s was the incredible amount of talent and craftsmanship that continually raised the bar among the top bands in the area. With Soundgarden's 'Superunknown' turning 20 this year, one of the band's peers, Nirvana drummer and Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl, has weighed in with his recollection of hearing what Soundgarden were doing back in '94.
Soundgarden's 'Superunknown' album has been rocking for two decades now and the band will mark the milestone with the release of special 20th anniversary edition sets on June 3. In advance of the upcoming releases, Soundgarden have teamed with Loudwire, Ultimate Classic Rock, Diffuser.fm and Noisecreep to unveil 20 fun GIFs created from the band's standout music video for 'Black Hole Sun.'
