Since 1987, South by Southwest (SXSW) has been one of the most celebrated gatherings for music, film and interactive entertainment. As the largest music festival of its kind on the planet, SXSW will take over Austin, Texas, for 10 consecutive days, and we've got your essential guide to the metal showcases that will be taking place at the fest.
Corey Taylor, who has been balancing his time lately between Stone Sour and Dave Grohl's 'Sound City Players' shows, may have a chance to address both when he makes the trip to Austin, Texas, later this month for the South by Southwest Music Conference. Taylor has signed on to host one of the artist discussions during the music week.
This year's South By Southwest festival in Austin, Texas, was already going to include plenty of Green Day, as two documentaries featuring the band are set to be screened on March 15 during the film portion of the festival. Now, it has been announced the band will be there as well to play a show that night, marking the band's first gig since frontman Billie Joe Armstrong entered rehab back in September.
Miss Trivium’s stint at South by Southwest in Austin, Texas, this weekend? No worries, because a video of their acoustic performance of the single 'Built to Fall' at the festival has surfaced online. Apparently, South by Southwest couldn’t handle Trivium’s plugged-in power, so they had to go acoustic, which is a treat for fans that are used to seeing the band completely amped up.
