Staind vocalist Aaron Lewis will host a charity golf tournament in Bernardson, Mass., on Saturday, Aug. 11. The inaugural Aaron Lewis Invitational Charity Golf Tournament will be held at the Crumpin-Fox Golf Club. Lewis and his wife Vanessa started the It Takes a Community Foundation, and proceeds from this tournament will benefit the R.H. Conwell Community Education Center in Worthington, Mass.
Aaron Lewis has taken time away from Staind in the past, but the fact that the group is calling their upcoming break a "hiatus" initially raised a few eyebrows, especially given that they finished their last album with longtime drummer Jon Wysocki leaving the band.
Staind arrived on the scene in 1999 and enjoyed some moderate success, but were primarily known for being signed by Fred Durst, who also co-produced their debut disc. So when 2001's 'Break the Cycle' album came along, it was time for the band to stand on their own.
It’s hard to believe that throughout their 17-year career together, Staind have never released an official live disc, but all that changes this summer when ‘Live From Mohegan Sun’ makes its debut in several formats. The CD version will be available on July 10 followed by the DVD/Blu-ray out on Aug. 14.

Staind and Godsmack brought hard rock to the masses on their co-headlining Mass Chaos tour. Now that the journey has reached it's end, both bands offer their thanks to all those who were in attendance.
Staind and Megadeth are two acts that have always saluted the service that America's soldiers provide for our country. But Staind vocalist Aaron Lewis and Megadeth bassist David Ellefson aren't content with just playing a few shows to put the spotlight on the military.
When Staind and Godsmack, two bands hailing from Massachusetts, announced their co-headlining ‘Mass Chaos’ tour run, it was a surprise to see that their home state had been left off of the tour routing. However, the band did manage to hit several New England venues, the closest to home being the Verizon Wireless Arena in Manchester, N.H. last night (May 16).
