Godsmack frontman Sully Erna has been spending some of his time away from the band and touring behind his debut solo album, 'Avalon.' But Godsmack fans don't need to worry that he's forgotten about them -- in fact, they have plenty to look forward to in the new year, including a new live album, a covers project and a co-headlining tour with Staind.
After Staind founding member and longtime drummer Jon Wysocki left the band, Staind were left with an opening for a new drummer. Staind found their new drummer in Wysocki's former drum tech, Sal Giancarelli, but it seems like the band may be second-guessing their decision.
Staind have been busy this year with the release of their very successful seventh studio album titled ‘Staind.’ Despite all this activity, the band has managed to squeeze in a string of tour dates to wrap up this year.
Staind released their latest album, a self-titled masterpiece, back in September of this year. The making of the album was an arduous and well documented process, but now that it’s out the band can sit back and enjoy the fruits of their labor.
"Rock star" is a common Halloween costume for kids and grown-up kids alike, but what do real rock-stars-in-the-making dress up as? Rock stars, of course! At least that was the case for Alice in Chains drummer Sean Kinney, who says that most years of his childhood he spent the last day of October dressed up as Peter Criss from Kiss.
A lot has been said by Staind about their new album -- how the hard-hitting disc is a return to form, about the tense atmosphere within the band during recording sessions, how that tension lead to the departure of longtime drummer Jon Wysocki once they finished -- but Wysocki himself has yet to comment on the split. That is, until now.
