After System of a Down returned to the stage after a lengthy hiatus, rock and metal fans around the world rejoiced. Even Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff hasn't been able to contain her excitement.
Ever since the official announcement that System of a Down had reunited in late 2010, fans of the band have been foaming at the mouth for a taste of new material. The possibility of a new System album has just become very real after drummer John Dolmayan claimed, "It's going to happen" during an interview at the 2011 Rock in Rio Festival.

During System of a Down's hiatus, frontman Serj Tankian embarked on what was to be a very successful solo career. Although System of a Down re-formed last year and have even started to tour again, Tankian remains committed to his solo work and is in the process of creating his third full-length album. Tankian has also remained closely connected to his fans via his Facebook page, where he has been giving them the latest on his progress in the studio.
