Danish rockers Volbeat have kept quiet for most of the latter part of 2012, but that's partly because they've been working on new music. The group reveal in a new posting that they're just about ready to share some of their fresh material and will test it out while playing dates in their home country early next year.
Iced Earth guitarist Jon Schaffer has a distinct and very metal look. When a fan pictures Schaffer, they see a black shirt or tank top, a denim or leather vest, a bandana and an angry metal face. In a hilarious doppleganger moment, Volbeat frontman Michael Poulsen joined Iced Earth onstage dressed exactly like Schaffer as the band played their classic namesake track, 'Iced Earth.'
Volbeat frontman Michael Poulsen will be the guest on Loudwire Radio this weekend. In his interview with host Mike 'Sandman' Sanders, the singer-guitarist talks about the Danish band's U.S. hits, touring and their upcoming album. Tune in this weekend to Loudwire Radio to catch Volbeat's Michael Poulsen on the show, but in the meantime check out a preview of the interview below:
Volbeat are hitting new heights in their career, but with all the good stuff there is a transition that's being made. The group parted ways with guitarist Thomas Bredahl earlier this year, and singer Michael Poulsen is discussing the move.
Back in April, Danish metal outfit Volbeat announced the first string of shows for their upcoming North American tour with Hellyeah. Now, the band has followed that up with additional dates for the summer trek.
As Danish rockers Volbeat make their first appearance at the annual Rock on the Range Festival today (May 20) in Columbus, Ohio, drummer Jon Larsen took some time to sit down and check in with Loudwire.
