The stage finds Volbeat in their most natural state. In the newly released DVD trailer from their 'Live From Beyond Hell /Above Heaven' DVD, which drops on Nov. 25 overseas, the band's live fire power, essence and energy are effectively captured by multiple camera angles. The DVD boasts 28 songs that were captured while the band performed in Germany, the U.S. and their native Denmark.
Choppy images, a boxing ring, the band's live audience, instruments being knuckled down upon and obscured shots of the band itself reign supreme in Volbeat's video for 'A Warrior's Call.' There's so much fast-paced, black, white and red-hued action taking place that this video could make your eyeballs pop out of your head.
Back in September we brought you news about the 2012 Gigantour featuring Megadeth teaming up with Motorhead, Volbeat and Lacuna Coil, and now the dates for the epic tour have been announced. The bands, all hand-picked by Megadeth’s Dave Mustaine, offer up an eclectic mix of speed metal meets thrash meets rockabilly meets goth rock. That’s a whole lot of metal on one bill, and a lot of bang for your buck - just as Mustaine planned.
Rare is the band that can cite Elvis Presley and the Misfits as influences. But Danish rock act Volbeat are a rare band. On paper, Volbeat's music should be an incoherent mess. They mix rock, punk, metal and rockabilly and then shake it, stir it, spill some of it on the floor and slam the rest of the concoction against the wall. But the execution works.
