The Fenix will rize in May and so will the D. Tenacious D, the humorous, metal-inspired act lead by actor/comedian Jack Black and his partner-in-crime Kyle Gass, will dust off their picks of destiny in order to release their third album, ‘Rize of the Fenix.’ The mock rockers plan to release the album in May.

The pair released a self-titled affair in 2001 and ‘The Pick of Destiny’ in 2006, so it’s been a while since we’ve heard from ‘em on record. If you want to enjoy a minute-long, tasty morsel from the record, the band has shared it! You can chuckle when you hear Black declare, ‘The D will rise again.’ Oops, we meant rize. It’s an acoustic number with metal and rock-radio influenced vocals, and the band was generous enough to share 50 seconds of the song with fans.

The D will also rize on the stage again, as they will perform at the Sasquatch! Music Festival in George, Wash., which takes place May 25-28, according to Billboard.

Feel the D!
