Details for the third edition of Slaughter by the Water have just been released to eager metal fans. Taking place on Aug. 25, Slaughter by the Water 3 will be held on the USS Hornet Aircraft Carrier docked in Alameda, Calif., and will feature Absu, Autopsy, Impaled, Slayer drummer Dave Lombardo's side project Philm + many more.

Testament vocalist Chuck Billy will be the host of Slaughter by the Water 3, and asks that fans come to the event early to check out the Pier Stage bands, which will be FREE to the public. All you have to do is bring a blanket to be donated to the Whole Heart Native Warmth Project, a group that provides warm blankets to Native Americans. "These blankets right here will be given to the people of the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation," says Billy. "So everybody, help them stay warm during the winter."

Slaughter by the Water 3 will blast metal at fans faces while allowing them to explore the wartime vessel at their own leisure. The USS Hornet has a rich history to say the very least, as the ship holds the Navy record of most planes shot down in a day (72) and most planes shot down in a month (255).

Nicknamed 'The Grey Ghost in Alameda,' the USS Hornet is said to be one of the most haunted warships in the American Navy, with multiple witnesses claiming to have experienced supernatural events. Private groups will be taken on a 'Haunted Tour,' where ghost stories will be told from where a tidal wave hit the USS Hornet Museum. There will also be more conventional tours of the aircraft carrier itself.

Stay tuned for additional bands being announced for the show. For tickets to Slaughter by the Water 3, click here.
