Purveyors of 'Red Dirt Metal' Texas Hippie Coalition are set to drop their fifth full length effort later this month on April 29 through Carved Records. The Dark Side of Black promises to deliver all the signature elements from the Texas hellions and the new track "Come Get it" exemplifies just that.

Frontman Big Dad Ritch gets in your face from the first second on "Come Get It," suggesting if you've come looking for trouble, you've found it. Following the take-on-all-comers introduction, the song dials back the intensity with soft tom and kick drum work like a a mountain lion stalking its prey. A sludgy, pinch harmonic lead delivers the hook on "Come Get It" with more taunting from Big Dad Ritch. On the back half of the track, the title finally comes into play alongside a stomping rhythm followed by a bluesy solo.

The imposing frontman spoke with Guitar World about the new record, detailing the inspiration for the title. "There are a lot of people who will work hard at blacking out your light, as opposed to working on making their own light bright," Big Dad Ritch started. "I feel I represent a mighty powerful bright light, but I also feel that when push comes to shove, the darkness I have hidden behind my light is ready to blacken all that holds color. When this happens, I cannot control my dark side. You see, there is always someone who has a darker side and I am The Dark Side of Black…"

Pre-orders for The Dark Side of Black can be placed digitally on iTunes and Google Play or through Amazon for a physical copy.

Texas Hippie Coalition will hit the road in support of the new album, bringing along another native act, Sons of Texas. The trek is slated to begin on April 22 in Colorado Springs, Colo. and wrap up with two festival appearances -- Rocklahoma on May 28 and River City Rockfest on May 29.
