Australian band the Amity Affliction took hold of New York City’s Irving Plaza while on their headlining tour in support of their new DVD Seems Like Forever.

Fans packed in to see Aussie metalcore act, whose set was primarily made up of tracks from their latest and very successful album Let the Ocean Take Me. Passionate fans sang their hearts out to “Lost & Fading,” “The Weigh Down” and “Death’s Hand” from the group's latest release. The band also played “Open Letter” and “Greens Avenue”and the title track off their 2012 release Chasing Ghosts.

The Amity Affliction are relentless onstage and their energy is completely infectious, as the passion of their fans didn’t waver from beginning to end. Security guards were catching two crowd surfers at a time and during much of the night, fans tested the sturdiness of the barricades, as well. The New York crowd really unleashed as the night ended with favorites “Pittsburgh” and “Don’t Lean on Me.”

Utah deathcore act Chelsea Grin played an obliterating set as they took the stage beforehand. Frontman Alex Koehler delivered notable tracks “Desolation of Eden,” “My Damnation” and “Playing With Fire” and fans gave a warm response as Chelsea Grin performed their cover of Korn’s “Right Now.”

California band Secrets performed halfway through the night and gained some new fans with their energetic performance. The group is gearing up to release their brand new album Everything That Got Us Here on Dec. 11, and they played the fresh track “Left Behind” from the forthcoming release.

Opening bands included Cruel Hand and The Plot in You, who both got the blood pumping early on with lively sets.
