The Answer, ‘Solas’ – Exclusive Video Premiere

The Answer are back and building to the release of their new album Solas on Oct. 28 via Napalm Records. The Irish rockers have teamed up with Loudwire to exclusively bring you the dark and foreboding new video for the Solas album title track.

The clip centers on a young woman, who is first seen laid upon a table in a candlelit room during a ritualistic ceremony where a crown is placed upon her head and dark rocks inside her hands. When she awakens, she's in a white dress in a strange forest fleeing the area while being watched over by a dark hooded figure. What does it all mean? "'Solas' is a very important song to us which charts a new direction for The Answer. 'Solas' (the Celtic word for light) was written and recorded at the end of a very dark period in the band’s personal history and we wanted a video that expressed a darker dimension to our music," reveals singer Cormac Neeson about the slow-building rocker. "We purposely chose a narrative video without any band performance or appearance for the very first time. We gave our director Dermot Faloon from Street Monkey a pretty free hand to interpret the mood and lyric but we knew we wanted something in the vein of The Wicker Man and True Detective. Dermot really delivered big time and being a Northern Ireland director in Northern Ireland locations, the DNA of Game of Thrones seemed to seep in somewhere."

The Solas album, which features the title track, is due for an Oct. 28 release via Napalm Records.
