Former vocalist of Swedish heavy metal pioneers Destiny, Therese Hanserot, died on Jan. 17, 2012 at the age of 48. Hanserot was the original vocalist for the group in 1985, lending her voice for the band’s first-ever demo and live show.

At the young age of 18, Hanserot made a name for herself with her powerful voice as Destiny began to gain attention in the mid-80s. Although having left the band long ago, Destiny guitarist Stefan Björnshög shared his sadness with fans via the Destiny Facebook page after the death of Hansrot. “My sorrow is endless and the hurt is unbearable. I love you Therese!”
