Hadad’s Lake in Richmond, Va., will be the setting for the 2012 edition of GWAR's GWAR-B-Q festival. The location is where last year’s event was originally scheduled, but had to be moved because of difficulties getting permits.

This year, GWAR frontman Oderus Urungus says the paperwork is in order. "All the proper arrangements have been made in triplicate and the proper demonic sponsorships attained. It's going to be a stinking hot, beer and beef-smeared metallic murderfest of unprecedented debauchery ... the most splat-tac-cular GWAR-B-Q!"

GWAR will be headlining the third annual festival, with other bands on the bill including Valient Thorr, The Casualties, Ghoul, Occultist, Lionize, Antietam 1862, Highness, Black Naked Wings and Mutwawa. There will also be Spew-O-Lympics, food vendors and the return of the Sexecutioner to the GWAR stage for the first time in 12 years.

Where has the Sexecutioner been? On a lengthy sabbatical beneath the catacombs of Paris with his good friend, Prince Ray Pierre, better known as "Frenchy," the demon of France. Oderus says, "I can't tell you how ecstatic I am to once again be engaging in acts of necro-bestial delight with my old buddy, The Sexecutioner. Well actually, I can. I am ecstatic I am to once again be engaging in acts of necro-bestial delight with my old buddy, The Sexecutioner."

In addition to the GWAR-B-Q in August, GWAR will be playing a few shows in June. This includes a performance at The Zombie Prom in New York City, two headlining shows and an appearance at the D-Tox Rockfest in Montebello, Quebec.
