Top 20 Songs: Week of Sept. 29 – Oct. 5, 2013

Charles Epting, Loudwire

Avenged Sevenfold are spending their lucky number seventh week atop the Loudwire Radio Countdown with ‘Hail to the King.’ It appeared as though Sick Puppies might be primed to knock them off with ‘There’s No Going Back,’ but the song slips back from No. 2 to No. 3 this week.

That means there’s a new challenger for the throne, as Three Days Grace move from No. 4 to No. 2 with ‘Misery Loves My Company.’ Rounding out the Top 5 are Korn‘s ‘Never Never,’ moving from No. 6 to No. 4, while Pearl Jam‘s ‘Mind Your Manners’ slips two notches from No. 3 to No. 5.

There was little movement elsewhere on the charts. Three Days Grace and Korn were among five acts climbing two notches. Volbeat‘s ‘Lola Montez’ (No. 14 to No. 12), Redlight King ‘Born to Rise’ (No. 18 to No. 16) and Seether‘s ‘Seether’ (No. 20 to No. 18) were the other three. Meanwhile, a two-notch drop was also the biggest fall of the week. That happened to former chart toppers Five Finger Death Punch and Stone Temple Pilots as ‘Lift Me Up’ dropped from No. 12 to No. 14 and ‘Out of Time’ slid from No. 15 to No. 17. As one Five Finger Death Punch song drops, another one is on the rise, as ‘Battleborn’ is the lone new entry on the chart, arriving at No. 20.
