Veil of Maya are closing in on the release of their False Idol album and they've just released another piece of the puzzle, providing fans with a new video for "Doublespeak."

The clip, seen above, centers on a robed man wandering with purpose toward the ocean, disrobing and crawling and then eventually rushing to the sea as though it's his salvation, but it may not be what he was expecting. Watch and see how the video plays out.

As for the song itself, it's a perfect blend of brutal and beauty, with pulsing and crushing guitars and gruff vocals offset against melodic moments and breakdown with an almost ethereal quality to it. Take a listen in the player above.

"Doublespeak" appears on Veil of Maya's forthcoming album False Idol, due Oct. 20 via Sumerian Records. Guitarist Mark Okubo says, "False Idol is our most dynamic release as of yet. This is the largest amount of material we have ever packed into one album and we are so proud to share it with everyone. We feel that there is something for fans of all the various genres of metal, while still continuing to build on the classic Veil of Maya sound."

The band recently issued the video for the song "Overthrow," so fans are starting to get a good idea of where the new album is heading. The False Idol disc is available to pre-order here and you can look for the band on tour with The Devil Wears Prada, Silent Planet and Thousand Below this fall. Dates can be found here.
