Velvet Revolver Drummer Matt Sorum is Engaged

Congrats are in order for drummer Matt Sorum, who mans the kit for Velvet Revolver and who used to pound the skins for Guns N' Roses after Steven Adler was bounced. Sorum will wed Ace Harper, the lead singer of his "other band" Diamond Baby and his girlfriend for the last seven years. Congrats again to Matt and Ace on their forthcoming nuptials.

Blabbermouth reports that the couple will head to Villa del Palmar at the Islands of Loreto in Mexico to swap vows. The duo celebrated Sorum's 51st birthday in the area in November and they are so enamored by the region that they decided to return and wed.

The ceremony is slated for May.

Vacationing, fun in the sun and getting married are not the only recreational activities that Sorum will enjoy in Loreto. Sorum and his  VR/GN'R bandmate and rhythm section partner Duff McKagan, along with Aerosmith axe Joe Perry, ZZ Top frontman Billy Gibbons and Cheap Trick vocalist Robin Zander, are planning to open a rock club in Loreto.

In addition to being in love and planning to spend the rest of their lives together, Sorum and Harper collaborate in Diamond Baby, who released their debut single 'The Last Rockstar' this summer.
