Are you ready for some football? Motley Crue frontman Vince Neil is ready to bring the pigskin back to Las Vegas in the form of the new Arena League football team, The Las Vegas Outlaws.

Though it's been rumored for some time, AFL Commissioner Jerry Kurz recently made the official announcement that Neil and his Rockstar Sports Group had been awarded a franchise.

Neil already had a foot in the door with the AFL as he and his partners were already minority owners of the AFL's Jacksonville Sharks. With the award of the Las Vegas team, the minority ownership of the Jacksonville team will be divested in compliance with league regulations.

"I am really excited to bring back Arena Football to our great fans in Vegas," said Neil. "It's something that I have wanted to do for quite some time. Arena Football and rock 'n' roll are very similar. It's fast, exciting and great entertainment."

The vocalist went on to add, "I have been fortunate to achieve my dreams and goals in the music industry. Now I am able to pursue my passion and dreams in professional football right here in my own town, Las Vegas."

The Arena Football League just completed their 2014 with the Arizona Rattlers taking the title last month. Look for the new season kicking off next spring.
