If you plan to attend this winter's Giganour, Volbeat have provided yet another reason to nab a ticket to what is going to be one of the hottest tours around. The band, making their debut on the long-running tour, has recruited Hank Shermann of Mercyful Fate to play guitar for the on the tour.

The band announced that it had parted ways with guitarist Thomas Bredahl last month. The Volbeat boys didn't wait long to find a quality replacement to fill the vacancy on the tour, did they?!

The band posted the news on its website this morning, with frontman Michael Poulsen writing:

"Volbeat have tapped Hank Shermann of mighty Mercyful Fate to play guitar on their forthcoming slot on Gigantour. Most recently Hank Shermann shared the stage with Metallica at their 30th anniversary shows in San Francisco. It’s a true honor getting to work with Hank, whose guitar work has inspired all three band members long before Volbeat was formed. I’m very thankful that Hank has the time to join us on Gigantour in his busy schedule."

Looks like Shermann and Volbeat are also linked by Metallica. Remember, 'Tallica invited Volbeat on tour dates in recent years.

Gigantour kicks off in January, giving metal fans a good reason to get off the couch and leave the house during the doldrums of winter.
