Florida metalcore band Wage War have teamed up with Loudwire to premiere a studio diary recounting the recording process behind their upcoming album, Deadweight, and it includes a clip of the band laying down the new song "Witness."

Deadweight is set to arrive on Aug. 4, and it's the follow-up to the band's debut disc, 2015's Blueprints. The video above shows the members of the band speaking about where they're coming from on the record and what ideas and sounds fans can expect from the new LP.

Their vision for what the album can be is also helped by the production duo of Andrew Wade and A Day To Remember's Jeremy McKinnon, who also hails from Ocala, Florida. The two producers have worked with the band on their first LP, knowing what the group wants to do with their sound and giving them the tools to achieve it.

In the middle of the video, you'll get an exclusive listen to the new song "Witness," which gives a hint as to what the album will be bringing. With an ease, the band can shift between brutally fast metallic sections, before switching things up with an invigorating chorus. It shows they have the tools needed to succeed in the competitive world of metalcore, and that they're improving on what they began with Blueprints.

The year has already been an eventful one for the band, with Wage War earning a slot on Rocklahoma 2017 and playing shows with the likes of Islander, Taking Back Sunday, Every Time I Die and A Day To Remember. Check out the exclusive studio diary in the video above, and pr-order Deadweight here.
