"Lookout world ... next generation of rockers coming soon to an arena near you," tweeted Dave Grohl through the Foo Fighters account after Friday night (Oct. 12). The person who caused Grohl to offer that comment was 10-year-old Collier Cash Rule, a Kansas City-area youth that Grohl plucked out of the audience and gave a spotlight to during the band's set at the Sprint Center.

Rule was called up onstage by Grohl, who learned that the youngster played guitar and asked him what songs he knew. "I know a lot of Metallica songs," said the fifth-grader, to which a somewhat nervous Grohl added, "Do I know a lot of Metallica songs?"

After being handed a guitar, Collier started breaking out the riffs to "Enter Sandman," with Taylor Hawkins joining in on drums and Grohl singing along to a portion of the track before shutting it down. Collier looked at home onstage, walking back to the drums to play off of Hawkins, circling around to the front of the stage to perform to the crowd as Grohl pointed to the young musician.

The Foo frontman then asked Collier what else he knew, with the kid breaking out a bit of "Welcome Home (Sanitarium)" and "Wherever I May Roam." Before saying their farewells, Grohl asked Collier if he wanted the guitar, an instrument that the singer had used. Collier accepted, gave Grohl a hug and then headed off to his mother in the audience.

“If I see that shit on eBay next week, I’m gonna find you, Collier," the singer humorously responded as the pre-teen exited the stage.

Collier's mother told KMBC News that her son loves music and had been playing guitar for two years. He had been practicing daily before and after school.

Meanwhile, if you'd like to pick up some of Grohl's instruments, there is a "Play Music Gear" auction currently going on via Reverb. The gear has been signed by Grohl with items from DW Drums, Fender, Gibson Gretsch, Ludwig, Made by Maple and Zildjian. Head here to place a bid.
