Prophets of Rage — the outfit consisting of Rage Against the Machine's Tom Morello, Brad Wilk and Tim Commerford along with Cypress Hill's B Real and Public Enemy's Chuck D and DJ Lord — performed their first show last night (May 31) at the famous Whisky A Go Go on the Sunset Strip in West Hollywood, Calif. Footage of the group performing songs from all three bands has now surfaced (watch below).

The supergoup took the stage and performed over 20 songs between the musicians' respective legacies, including Rage Against the Machine's "Testify," "Sleep Now in the Fire" and "Bulls on Parade." Cuts from Public Enemy's catalog included the new supergroup's namesake song, "Prophets of Rage," "Welcome to the Terrordome" and "Bring the Noise" while tracks like "Rock Superstar" and "Insane in the Brain" represented Cypress Hill. The full setlist can be seen directly below.

In the videos below, short clips were taken from the show where the world got its first glimpse at Chuck D.'s voice set to Rage Against the Machine's rap-rock fusion. Prophets of Rage also received Zack de la Rocha's personal blessing to push forward with this new group.

When the show was revealed, a flyer described the catalyst for the formation, stating, “Prophets of Rage combines the sonic firepower of Rage Against the Machine, Public Enemy and Cypress Hill. We can no longer stand on the sidelines of history. Dangerous times demand dangerous songs. It’s time to take the power back. It’s time to RAGE again.” Guitarist Tom Morello also insisted, “This is not just music. This is a movement we are embarking on starting tonight," when he spoked with Los Angeles' KROQ.

The band just revealed that they will play a second Los Angeles date on Friday (June 3) at the Hollywood Palladium. Check out their posting below.
