Every Friday, we'll be curating for you the best new music of the week and beyond, putting together the best that hard rock and metal music has to offer as a part of our playlist, Weekly Wire. Here's what you can expect:

This week, we're packing high artillery and featuring Machine Head as our cover image for this week's playlist. Today they dropped their newest LP, and it's filled with musically and emotionally heavy tunes. We're throwing the spotlight on "Screaming at the Sun," which is sure to rip apart anybody that comes in close contact with it.

This was also a great week for extremely varying solo songs. Jonathan Davis of Korn made his debut with the massive piano-lead ballad "What It Is," showing off that his voice hasn't missed a step in all of his years of being a frontman. Mike Shinoda of Linkin Park also released the Post Traumatic EP, featuring three heart wrenching, powerful songs in response to the death of Chester Bennington.

In other excellent tracks released this week, Three Days Grace gave us the first taste of their upcoming album with their thunderous new song "The Mountain." Breaking Benjamin also gave another look at what's coming in "Feed the Wolf," one of the band's heaviest songs to date. It's also the release week of killer albums from New Years Day, Tribulation, Marmozets, John 5 and more. If it's heavy, loud, and new, you're probably going to find it on this playlist.
