While many music fans may be familiar with Yoshiki’s musical catalog as the drummer and musical leader for the rock band X Japan that he founded in 1982, not everyone knows of his talents as a classically trained multi-instrumentalist and composer. Yoshiki will be giving music enthusiasts a chance to experience the other side of his craft with his new disc.

Titled ‘Yoshiki Classical,’ the upcoming collection of work includes several awe-inspiring collaborations. From working with famed producer Sir George Martin, who worked with the Beatles, to creating musical soundscapes behind his piano with orchestras and symphonies across the world including the London Philharmonic Orchestra, the Toyko City Philharmonic Symphony and the Quartet San Francisco, ‘Yoshiki Classical’ proves to be a beautiful, inspiring body of work.

Due out on digital retailers on Aug. 27, the first single ‘Miracle’ can already be heard below and is garnering a lot of positive feedback.

Yoshiki’s resume with classical music includes composing the 2012 Golden Globe Awards them song, the theme for the World Expo in Japan and a piano concerto to celebrate the Japanese Emperor’s 10th anniversary in reign.

As for X Japan, the band reportedly has been writing new music together although the details of a new album have been pretty scarce. Yoshiki did recently tell the Japan Daily Press that the band is working on plans for another world tour next year.
